Beyond Grey Pinstripes

Beyond Grey Pinstripes is a benchmark ranking of business schools. The project identifies and highlights the most innovative MBA programs and faculty infusing environmental quality and social equity concepts into the business school curriculum which provides graduates with the skills necessary to lead in a multi-cultural, dynamic, and global competitive environment.

In 2006, BELL will conduct a benchmark study of MBA programs around the world on their coverage of topics related to sustainable growth in emerging markets including markets.  The study will provide a framework for a gap analysis of what is being taught to business leaders that work for companies in emerging markets.

Accountability Project

The Business School Accountability Project engages companies to simultaneously improve corporate and academic sustainability practices, pushing companies and schools to carry out their sustainability goals. The project works to hold business schools accountable to prospective student interest and public demand for sustainability-minded business managers. The needs of corporate recruiters drive many curricular decisions within the business schools. WRI works with the partner companies to integrate their sustainability goals into their corporate hiring practices through building connections between different groups in the organizations and educating the front line recruiters about sustainability and its relevance to their company’s performance. The project thereby works to signal the need for MBAs who are equipped to bring companies into a sustainable future. Read more.

Corporate Working Groups

BELL is building Corporate Working Groups comprised of managers from domestic and multinational firms (including small, medium and large enterprises) in Mexico, Brazil and China. The goal of the working groups is to exchange knowledge and document best practices on BOP strategies and initiatives in the market place. Members will provide direct insight into business opportunities and challenges in their respective country, helping to highlight the areas in which new research and intellectual capital will be most helpful to managers in the field.

Research Panels

BELL is partnering with leading academic institutions in each of our program countries to form Research Panels. The Research Panels will focus on creating a body of work that provides theoretical and empirical support for base-of-pyramid strategies and initiatives in the market place and on integrating development and environmental issues into the business research agenda.
